Cigar Football Party: A Historic Evening Celebrating Uzbekistan’s World Cup 2026 Qualification

On August 28, Tashkent hosted the Cigar Football Party, celebrating a historic milestone — Uzbekistan’s national football team qualifying for the FIFA World Cup finals for the first time ever, set to take place in 2026. Organized by Cigar Academy Uz, the evening brought together two passions — football and the art of Cuban cigars — in one unforgettable gathering for true aficionados.
With a glass of Chivas whisky in hand and cigars from La Casa Del Habano, guests enjoyed an exclusive film chronicling Uzbekistan’s journey to World Cup qualification. The film was introduced by its director, journalist and commentator Nobel Arustamyan, who shared firsthand insights into the decisive moments of the qualifying tournament, expert assessments, and the emotions that surrounded the team’s triumph. Football, with its drama and exhilaration, naturally became one of the most engaging topics of the evening’s conversations.
A highlight of the night was the tasting of the new Montecristo Open Slam cigar. The word Slam, symbolically translated as “a loud strike”, perfectly echoed the explosive goals Uzbek fans are hoping to see from their team in 2026.
The excitement peaked during the prize draw. Event partners — La Casa Del Habano, HILL UZBEKISTAN, Chivas (Altash Import), and InterContinental Tashkent — treated guests to a selection of exclusive gifts: a shopping certificate from the luxury boutique Cashmere & Silk, a dinner for two at Swissôtel, rare cigars, books on the 2018 World Cup, a special edition bottle of Chivas 12, and even a certificate for a Porsche racetrack experience in Kazakhstan.
The evening unfolded in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, uniting everyone in the shared pride of a nation on its way to the world stage. More than just an event, the Cigar Football Party became a moment of collective anticipation — a taste of the great victory every Uzbek football fan is hoping to witness next year.
