    This Cookie Policy (hereinafter - the “Policy”) sets out the terms and the procedure for processing cookies collected and processed by ABBA GLOBAL LLC (hereinafter - the “Administration”) when Users visit and use the website located at https://hill.uz, including all of its subdomains and sections (hereinafter - the “Site”).

    By visiting the Site and accepting this Policy by clicking the “Accept” button (or any other button or interface element that allows the User to confirm acceptance of this Policy) and/or by continuing to use the Site, the User consents to the processing of cookies on the terms set out in this Policy. Strictly necessary (technically required) cookies are processed regardless of such consent, to the extent necessary for the Site to function.

    This Policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Use published on the Site and applies together with the Privacy Policy and the Consent to the Processing of Personal Data. Terms used in this Policy and not defined herein have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Use.

    1. Terms and definitions

    1.1. Administration - ABBA GLOBAL LLC, the owner of the Site and the founder (publisher) of the mass media outlets “HILL” and “HILL Media House”. Address: Sofdil Street, “Tashkent INDEX” shopping centre, Tashkent; TIN (STIR): 311 413 563.

    1.2. Site - the website located at https://hill.uz, including all of its subdomains and sections.

    1.3. User - an individual who visits and uses the Site.

    1.4. Cookie - a small text file sent by a web server and stored on a computer, mobile phone or other device with Internet access when the Site is visited. Each time a page of the Site is opened, the User’s web browser sends that file back to the web server as part of an HTTP request, providing the server with information about the User’s actions or preferences. For the purposes of this Policy, “cookies” also means any other similar technologies (including the device’s local storage, pixels, tags and web beacons). Detailed information on the types of cookies used is set out in section 2 of the Policy.

    1.5. Analytics Service - a web analytics tool that makes it possible to track and analyse User behaviour on the Site.

    1.6. Retargeting - a mechanism of interaction with a User who has previously shown interest in the Site or its individual sections, under which such User is shown (including repeatedly) information or advertising of products, services and Materials of the Administration and/or its partners.

    1.7. IP address - a unique network address required to locate, transmit and receive information between network nodes.

    2. Information on the types of cookies and their content

    2.1. The Administration may use the following types of cookies:

    2.1.1. Strictly necessary (technically required) cookies - required to ensure the correct operation of the Site and to provide the functions requested by the User. Such functions may include language selection, keeping the User signed in to the Personal Account, ensuring security and preventing fraud, preserving the state of the cart when ordering Printed issues and taking out a Subscription, and access to protected sections of the Site. This category of cookies cannot be disabled, because without it the Site cannot function properly.

    2.1.2. Analytical (performance) cookies - required to collect information about how the User uses the Site (for example, the browser used, the pages visited, the duration of the session). These cookies make it possible to improve the quality and consumer properties of the Site, to improve navigation, to detect and fix technical errors and to ensure the security of the Site.

    2.1.3. Marketing cookies - used to collect information about the User’s preferences and to display advertising and content best matching their interests, including advertising of the Subscription, Electronic and Printed issues and HILL Events. Such cookies may also be used to limit the number of advertising impressions, to personalise offers and to measure the effectiveness of advertising and marketing campaigns of the Administration and its partners (conversion measurement), including for retargeting purposes.

    2.2. Cookies may contain technical information transmitted by the User’s device, including: the User and/or session identifier; the IP address; information about the device and its technical configuration (device type, operating system and its version, screen parameters); information about software (type and version of the web browser, language settings); data on the User’s actions on the Site (pages viewed, time spent, the source of the visit to the Site, the search queries that led to the visit, the pages from which the visits were made); information about errors that occur; other technical information transmitted by the device.

    2.3. The composition of the information contained in cookies depends on the type of cookie, the device used by the User, the software installed on it, and the section of the Site with which the User interacts.

    3. Purposes of processing cookies

    3.1. The Administration may process cookies for the following purposes:

    3.1.1. ensuring the full and correct functioning of the Site, preserving the User’s settings and sign-in status;

    3.1.2. ensuring the security of the Site, preventing fraud and unauthorised access to accounts;

    3.1.3. providing and correctly operating the paid functions of the Site, including the Subscription, access to Electronic issues and the placing of orders for Printed issues;

    3.1.4. developing and improving the Site, its services and functionality, including development, modernisation and error correction;

    3.1.5. creating personalised offers and other offers of Materials, the Subscription and services of the Administration relevant to the User’s needs;

    3.1.6. carrying out analytical, statistical and marketing research, including using large volumes of data;

    3.1.7. carrying out advertising and marketing activities (including placing advertising materials on the Site, configuring individually targeted advertising and retargeting).

    4. How the Administration processes cookies

    4.1. The Administration is entitled to process cookies using means of automation by performing the following actions (operations): collection, recording, systematisation, accumulation, storage, clarification (updating, modification), retrieval, use, transfer (provision, access), depersonalisation, blocking, deletion, destruction.

    4.2. The Administration processes cookies from the day the User accepts this Policy and/or begins using the Site until the stated purposes of processing are achieved or until the User refuses the processing of the relevant cookies, taking into account the storage periods (“lifetimes”) of the cookies. The storage period depends on the type of cookie: session cookies are deleted at the end of the session (when the browser is closed), persistent cookies are stored for the period set for them or until they are deleted by the User.

    4.3. The processing of personal data that may be contained in cookies or obtained through them is carried out in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Personal Data” (No. ZRU-547 of 2 July 2019) and on the terms of the Privacy Policy and the Consent to the Processing of Personal Data. The Administration ensures that the personal data of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan is processed in accordance with the statutory requirements for storing such data within the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    5. Who cookies may be transferred to and who the Administration may engage to process them

    5.1. The Administration informs the User, and the User agrees, that in order to achieve the stated purposes the Administration is entitled to use third-party Analytics Services, as well as to transfer (including, where necessary, to transfer across borders) cookies to the owners of such Analytics Services with whom the Administration has entered into the relevant contracts and/or agreements.

    5.2. The Administration informs the User, and the User agrees, that in order to achieve the stated purposes cookies may be used and transferred in connection with the use of third-party services and resources integrated into the Site (including payment systems, delivery services, embedded video players, mapping services and social networks). The use of such services is also governed by the rules and policies of the relevant third parties; the Administration does not control the processing of data on their side, except in the cases expressly provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    5.3. The cross-border transfer of data contained in cookies is carried out in compliance with the requirements of the personal data legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    6. Cookie security

    6.2. Technical security measures are implemented by the Administration taking into account the requirements of applicable law, the current state of the art, the nature of the information processed and the risks associated with its processing.

    7. How to refuse the processing of cookies

    7.1. Strictly necessary (technically required) cookies cannot be disabled, as they are required for the correct operation and security of the Site. The User may delete them after finishing using the Site by means of their browser or device.

    7.2. The User may refuse the processing of analytical and marketing cookies. Cookies are placed on the User’s device, and therefore the Administration cannot delete them on the User’s behalf; the User manages cookies independently in accordance with the instructions applicable to their device and browser.

    7.3. Please note that similar technical solutions (for example, the device’s local storage) have no built-in mechanism for automatic deletion after a period of time and must be deleted by the User independently. Disabling some cookies may make individual functions of the Site unavailable or cause them to work incorrectly.
